OUTREACH - MINISTRIES
At First United Methodist Church, we believe in hands-on ministry. There is something special in serving people on a personal basis. Thus we keep encouraging and helping persons like yourself to find meaningful ways to serve God and others. Along with special projects and our ongoing work with Resurrection House, we work with many other vital community ministries. We want to assist you to find your place to serve in God's Realm of Compassion and Care.
Resurrection House - Aid to the homeless in job and problem counseling
as well as food, showers, and laundry facilities at 507 Kumquat Court.
At the church, sack lunches are prepared and distributed on weekends.
All Faiths Food Bank - Distribution to the poor of food donated
by supermarkets and individuals.
Caritas - Food and service center for the needy with emergency
rent, utilities, and transportation.
Other Mission Projects - Goodwill Industries, Community Mobile
Meals, FISH, Jim Russo Prison Ministry, UMCOR Disaster Relief, and the
United Methodist Children's Home, scholarship loans, Global Missions,
Tampa Indian Mission, and others.
